Extract Builder
Extract Builder lets you build an AUTOSAR ECU from Software Components - created by you, or imported from a third party tool. The Extract Builder provides adding and removing of software components to your ECU, connecting ports and system signals and validation of the created ECU extract
Overview
Extract Builder is a tool used to create an ECU system. In this tool the ECU Integrator defines the software architecture with all the Software Components, ports and the connections between them. These connections can be created automatically or manually depending on the workflow defined. Extract Builder discovers all software components that is included in the project even if they are located in different files, this makes it easy for teams to work in parallel. Inside Extract Builder the Integrator also defines the connections to the outer world i.e. System Signals are connected to environment ports of the software architecture.
For large models, there is a Port Connection View that is used to get a good overview of all connections and the components they are connected to. Extract Builder is built on Eclipse and is integrated with the other Autosar tools from ArcCore.
As all ArcCore products, the Extract Builder is based on the principle of openness. This means that the Extract Builder provides opportunities to add customer specific tools for streamlining the development process to the user’s needs. The use of AUTOSAR standard XML-format and extension points in Eclipse provides extensive possibilities for the users to integrate their own tools to the Arctic Studio and the Extract Builder.
The Extract Builder is provided as a professional plug-in to the Arctic Studio IDE and new versions of the Extract Builder are made available through the update service provided by ArcCore.
